Using the bird’s skull (the old way), which eyes do the better taxidermists use if not Tohickon? (I have not yet made friends with the artificial skulls, especially when they don’t fit right. Maybe when I cast my own I will be happy with the detail.) The flat eyes that come with the artificial heads seem to be “economy grade” and I ordered Tohickon’s 110 eyes on wire, but they took 3 weeks to ship since they had to paint them.
What are the best alternatives? Perhaps I need to innovate some with the existing artificial heads, but the eyes that came with them look flat in depth, and you can’t pin the eyelids in position. The duck heads and eyes came from McKenzie. Apparently we are simply going to have to deal with the back order if we want decent bird eyes.
I suppose that will let us work on the fish molding.
Any suggestions/recommendations?

OK, my bird mentor, Nancy, clued me into the acrylic eyes. That could be my answer.
