first timer, please help..|Bird Taxidermy|Forum|Taxidermy Talk

hi, i found a dead bird on my doorstep, it is real small, like hummingbird sized.. and i want to keep it. i have done some research and for now, am keeping it intact in cornmeal. i am wondering if i can keep it, ungutted, in the cornmeal for a couple months to preserve? do i have to cut it open and remove the innards? i am not very good at tinkering with such tiny things, i am afraid i will tear it or something bad like that. is there a way to preserve it at home without cutting it open? please help!
