I am about to try my first turkey. Can any one give me some tips on it. I was thinking of trying a hanging dead mount. How should I skin it for that mount. And any other tips would be very helpful.

There’s only 1 way to skin for general mounting purposes in my opinion. That’s leg to leg. A dead mount would be a good starting mount for you. You should get a dvd so you’ll have a better idea of what your doing. HQ has 1 by Tim Jordan that’d I’d recommend.

Make sure to use a form that duplicates, close to the same weight of the bird. Be sure to measure the neck from the first moveable vertebra from the body to the center of the ear ( this will especially help on a hanging dead mount. Again, Tim’s dvd is a great place to start. Good luck!!
