OfflineI am need of a bird fleshing machine. Does anyone own one of the Dakota Bird Fleshers or the Narrow Adjustable Flesher that McKinzie sells. If so are you happy with it. It seems like there is not much there to catch the fat while it is being removed from the bird. Most of the ones I have seen in the videos sit in a box that catches the mess. I have been thinking about just buying a small motor and trying to build my own but I am not very mechanically inclined. Probably just easier for me to buy one.

OfflineGary, I made my own. Was pretty easy to do. I got an electric motor for free and made an arbor at work (I’m also a machinist). The box I made from plywood and 1×12’s. Size depends on what you plan on fleshing with it. If you do a lot of turkeys or geese, go big. I’ll take some pics over the weekend as I will be fleshing a turkey and have it out.
