OfflineHi I was wondering what seems to be the foot injection material people prefer to use the most if any? I was thinking of using balmex at first then I did a little looking and saw it does not prevent shrinkage so was then thinking of Kaisers colored fnot injection resin but see some others like prema plump and master blend and was wondering how these compare against each other and was wondering if for a turkey its necessary to inject anything at all? I was also wondering what size syringe and gauge needle would work best with these injection fluid in a turkey leg and foot? Thanks
Hey Kaiser, most guys around here use the masters blend. For a turkey, I use a 3cc syringe with a 26ga needle. (I think) It’s whatever comes with the needle. Go to any pharmacy and ask for them. And yes, you should inject any foot. Otherwise, they will shrink by 1/2 or more of their normal size. Never tried prema plump. Masters blend gives me a bad headache, so i use a 60/40 mixture of formaldyhyde and glycerin. Shrinkage is minimal and your foot stays pliable.

OfflineThanks page for the reply found a ton of syringes at the local runnings farm supply store so got that covered. I wonder if balmex would be better than any of those two part epoxys? Just never have used any of them and don’t really want them setting up before I’m ready to inject and make it hard to position the foot. I guess I might try balmex first then if legs and feet look like they are shrinking I could inject with master blend or one of the others if needed unless they are not compatible.
