What color do you guys use for gwt and widgeon feet.. I’ve looked at life tone paints and opaque and opaque said pintail gray but I sprayed that and it was way to dark for my liking.. I’m just currious what colors you guys use and where can I purchase it at.??? I’m still pretty new to this stuff but my work is really impressing me!! Thanks….
I use Lifetones. I like to spray a light coat of flesh, then cocoa brown, then a wash of raw umber. Seal between each color.

I remember seeing a video of a wash on a woodduck with oil paints. I have tried it with lacquer, and then a water color wash, is that’s how it is done? I really do not hardly anything about a wash coat, would you share a little more on how to do that. I know it is for to go between scales. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks ahead. BWS
After painting with laquers, seal the foot and let dry. Then use acrylics or water paints for the wash. I use it straight out of the tube/bottle with a hand brush. Then use windex and a q-tip to rub off what you don’t want. If you take off too much, just add more.
