I was injecting the feet on my bearded hen and I noticed a little pink spur. It is smaller around than a pencil eraser and sticks up about 1/16″. 

How often does this occur?

All hens have spurs, they are just very small and not prominent. If your hen has one that is more visible then normal, I would say that is quite rare.

Thanks Aaron. The internet had conflicting info on it. The right spur is bigger than the left one and is as big as one of the jakes I killed this last spring, except it is pink, not the gray like the jake’s.
