As I continue to add to the list of waterfowl heads, I’ll be redoing some of my older ones. Like adding the salt glands on big water birds, or replacing those that have been molded many many times. I’ve just finished making 22 brand new heads, and 4 new remolds. Here’s the new Redhead, D-05. Watch for the fall catalog to see the new additions. Hope y’all like them.

OK Page, maybe a dumb question and I’m new at this. But what is the salt glands on big water birds?

Salt glands are the big (muscles) over the birds eyes. They help in removing excess salt that the bird swallows while feeding. Now,,, that’s what I was told years ago by someone, somewhere. I’ve never researched it or heard tell any different. I may actually be wrong.
