Well, you could make a quick one with hot glue. But I would set the gun to the low setting so as not to burn the good scales. Or get you some RTV rubber from any of the supply companies. Mix as to directions and spread some on the good scales. Let it dry and peel it off. Very easy. You could use latex, but you will have to put on several coats. You can make an alginate pad, but it needs to be used rather quickly cause it will dry out quickly and can crack or tear easily. It’s not hard. Don’t let it scare you. Every taxidermist should have rubber in their shop.
