OfflineYou know, I have a bit of a dilemma regarding purchasing the course. You see, I was full time doing taxidermy, not birds or fish though. I was holding down a full time job as well. I finally decided that enough was enough. Now, I quit doing taxidermy except for myself, friends and family, with maybe a customer or two.
I have a few turkey DVDs from when I decided to add birds to the work load. Now that I’m not really doing it, the cash flow has slowed to a trickle.
So, I’m debating within myself as to whether I would need more instruction when I don’t plan on doing any more turkey’s for myself and my friends and family don’t turkey hunt.
On the other hand, there is a never say never attitude within me and further instruction is not a bad thing even if it is for the sake of the instruction it’s self.
So, that was a long winded why to say I’ll probably purchase it eventually.
Tanglewood, I should have listened to that “Never say never” statement myself years ago. Back in 1991 we were moving from Chicago to Tennessee and I had decided I was going to permanently exit the taxidermy field (like I had done a couple times before but this time I was gone for good!) I was teaching in Chicago at the time and I had a student who had really taken an interest in this art we call taxidermy. Rather than move all my stuff, which was quite extensive, I gave it to this student of mine (who by the way went to a formal taxidermy school and did work for a few years).
Then in 1999 I decided to go back into the hobby and had to buy everything all over again! I took a five year break from 2003 to 2008 to pursue other things but this time I didn’t sell or give away a thing!
I have always figured if I got me a turkey to mount after hearing the reviews about it I would buy the turkey course myself. I have a VCR tap on mounting a turkey but how do you compare a two hour (or less) tape to what is it, ten to fourteen hours of instruction? (I read how long the course is but don’t remember the exact time length of the course)
My father-in-law once told me and I have always remembered, “Education is never a waste of money even if it is just because YOU want it for yourself.”

It is 10 hours long, broken up over 28 lessons. It is on sale right now for $ 55 . Pretty good deal for the info provided.

OfflineWell you guys twisted my arm hard enough and purchased the video. I was thinking that since I have a few DVDs, I didn’t know if there would be a lot to get beyond what I have already seen. I skimmed through 4 of the lessons and I must say from what I have seen, I think I already got my money’s worth.

OfflineThe difference that I have found in watching these lessons is that it isn’t necessarily new methods, as all my DVDs say to use a six gauge leg wire that has been threaded at the end, however, Aaron says 6 gauge wire threaded at the ends and then shows you how to create the threads and what size die to use. I already knew how to do that, but someone who didn’t know would be far better off seeing this particular lesson than the DVDs that say thread the wire and leave it up to you to figure it out.
I have a good feeling there will be a lot of things like this that will help out immensely.

Thank you for buying the course. I am glad to hear you like the videos. It was my goal to put as much information into it as I could and leave nothing out.
