Hello

I’m relatively new to taxidermy, and so far have only taxidermied mammals but I have been asked to mount a rook for a friend. Previously I have soaked the skins in white spirit, but I had a little mis-hap recently when I left a pigeon too long in the solution and it alll went to pot. So, I was just wondering whether I can use white spirit still for a bird, just for say 10 minutes and no longer, OR not to go near it at all. If so, what would anyone recommend using instead? Welcome to taxidermy talk. There are safer methods than using gas on birds here is a thread that was started on here not too long ago about it

If you want to use gas, 10 min is all you need to soak one. 5 min for little birds with no problems.
