one has fur the other has scales. i don’t like doing them but it does give a good feeling when you finish and i always say that will be the last one i mount. it never fails i get a call about doing a crappie, give them a price and here we go again. a gluton for punishment. good luck.
I mounted the crappie this morning. Carded fin’s. And, well its not pretty. I’ll give it an F2 twister survival look rateing. I’d feel better if I took a picture of it from across the pasture. I’ll Let it dry and take some pics.
If there ever is another one I hope its better.
When it is still partially frozen, salt it and let it sit in a cooler on ice for at least 3 hours. When you skin it, try not to bend the skin. Soak in powdered borax water no longer then 1 hour.
