Well I guess I will start this by saying that I can’t paint fish to save my life.
What I have is a 20″ Brown Trout that I casted a couple years ago and never painted.
I would like to paint it now and don’t know where to start. I will get some photos of what it looks like now.
and post photos as it comes together till finished .
What I am looking to have is help from the fish guys here or anybody to help me finish this.
I know Brian posted about a 1 on 1 section. So I thought that I would try this and see how it works.
Let me know if anybody would like to see this.
I think this would be good for all to see.

Bob, the best answer I will give you is to spend about 30 bucks and get Rick Kranes “Painting a Brown Trout” DVD. It will answer just about any question you can think of for painting the Brown. Good luck.
Thanks Kevin for the response.
But what I was looking to try is to see if I could do this fish through here on Taxidermy Talk.
With the help of the fish guys on here talking me through it.
Kinda like a 1 on 1 course over the internet instead of in person with the instructor. Or through a video Oops I mean a DVD (showing my age there).
Oh dont think I am just going to try and do this on fish only.
LOOK OUT D. I am coming at you to with one of these also. LOL
This would be a good way to have tutorials and everything in on post.
I may be wrong and it not work at all.

OK Bob, this could be interesting. When do you want to start?
I will start getting some photos as to what the cast looks like at this point and you guys let me know what needs to be done to it before painting.
I will get some closeups so everyone can see how it looks.
Fins are on
seam work done
mouth is installed
This could be fun for everybody.
Thanks
Bob
Hey Kevin
This thing has alot of pitting so if I blend with apoxie would that just fill them in and make it stand out more ?
I did go over them and tried to replicate the look of the pitting would that work ?
The head junction I did blend it is a pretty smooth transition
Thanks
Bob
I would carefully fill it the pitting rather than putting a blanket of epoxy over the fish. You want to try to preserve as much scale detail as possible. It is time consuming but you’ll be glad you did in the end. Also don’t forget to mold he scelera band around the eye with epoxy and any fin unions.
I hope I understood you correctly.
