Has anyone mounted a Lionfish? If so, what did you do for the fins? Make replicas? Or use the originals. Any tips would be appreciated!

We had one go through the shop many years ago. I remember we did cast each fin. A time consuming project !

We molded and cast each fin straight, then heated them up and bent them in a more natural position.

Wow!  That would be a challenge!  I’d love to see some pics when you’re finished!  They’re pretty cool looking fish but the thought of mounting one or doing a replica never even crossed my mind.  Probably because my mind couldn’t process all of that work!

I’m going to attempt it. May not turn out great, but am still going to try it. He lived in one of my marine tank for several years and was quite the character.
