I’m having some issues losing scales on the show side. I’m using denatured alcohol (50/50) for tanning. Would presoaking the fish before skinning help seat the scales? If so, for how long?

I only do reproduction Crappie just for that reason. If there is a way to skin them without losing scales, I’d like to know too. Good luck!

I do not use denatured alcohol or any pre soaks, and I do not use elmers glue.
