I am re starting the popular ” Week in Fish Pictures ” post right here on Taxidermy Talk !
A little history….
Back in 2006 I started ” The Week in Fish Pictures” post on Taxidermy.net in the fish section. Every Friday I would post a a new fish picture with a description of some of the work that went into making the mount. I encouraged other to do the same and the popular ” Week in Fish Pictures” weekly post was born. I had handed it off to someone else to take over as taxidermy work load made Fridays not work for me, but I am BACK and every Friday will be FISH PIC FRIDAY again !!
I encourage everyone to post a picture of a fish you have completed on this thread. Give a brief description of what you did to accomplish the piece and some things that made it unique . All skill levels welcome.
Post your fish pictures !!
I will start the week with a Lake Trout Skin Mount. This fish was caught in Canada. the darker color scheme on this fish is classic for Canadian Lake Trout. Our client wanted a natural and eye pleasing pose for this fish. We custom cast the head using alginate and bondo/resin mix. The body was carved out of a high density foam.

I will start another post again every Friday. Fish pic Friday is on !!!!
