OfflineI’ll be doing replicas of a some big walleyes a friend and I caught this summer – both over 10 pounds. Just looking to see pics of other big walleyes and any tips on painting. I have never painted one and do t have a whole lot of fish experience but do have some great Taxidermy Today articles and Rick KranesWalleye DVD. I’m not worried about doing them but just like to hear others thoughts and ideas.

It is very easy to overpaint walleye replicas. Keep it simple and build from that. Many walleye replicas look muddy from too many colors being layered.

OfflineThanks Aaron! I agree and see that in some mounts. Although I have Rick Kranes DVD, I will only be taking some of his methods as I feel some of his stuff is overdone a little. I really liked that skin mount that you did for me a few years ago!

When it comes time to paint let me know–we can go over some things before you start.
