What is the going rate for teaching a hands-on largemouth bass mounting course at the person’s shop?
The course would include skinning, curing, making a carved body, mounting, and when dry, prepping and painting with the student expected to provide the paints and supplies.
Several years back I served as instructor at several state, NTA, and SRTC conventions, plus the Piedmont mini course. I was also one of the first 8 to qualify in birds, fish and mammals in the NTA Certification program in the first year, and the first to win the Texas Association’s Paul Provenzano Award of Excellence in fish. Yes that has been a while, but I still know my way around a fish, be he skin mount or a replica that is second to none.
I enjoy teaching, but tend to let others take advantage of my nature, and I just wondered what a fair price for my time and expertise is.
Thanks.
These 2 bass were pedestal mounts from 1986.
