It’s not uncommon for athletes to be involved. Numerous women are known to have a harem…or two, but Michael Jordan seems to know a thing or two about sticking with a woman. Sure, he’s divorced, but the athlete was married for 17 years before his divorce, and seven years later he embarked on an equally serious marriage journey with wife number 2.

So let’s start in his past, obviously, before he was wife number one, she was his girlfriend so we’re partially assured on the front of his “girlfriend”. So without further ado, let’s meet the woman who was Michael Jordan’s wife for 17 years.
Michael Jordan’s ex-wife
Her name is Juanita Vanoy and she first met her future ex-husband in 1984 in a Chicago restaurant. Before she met Michael, she was sort of a career girl herself. She dabbled in modeling for a while, and at one point was executive director of the American Bar Association.
Just three years after they “courted,” Michael popped the question, and while her answer was an obvious “yes,” she chose to wait nearly a year before the wedding took place. We don’t know if he did so believing they’d be together forever, but shortly after their marriage, the athlete and his wife signed a letter of intent that said if they divorced, they’d split his assets mid-divorce would.
Already we know that their marriage blessed three children, their sons; Jeffrey, and Marcus, and their daughter Jasmine. Everything seemed fine until around 2002 when there was a tinge of trouble in the version of paradise they had. Apparently, Juanita’s filing for divorce was a clue to everyone involved, which is why the media’s magnifying glass was held over their marriage.
The couple didn’t go through with the divorce, but four years later they both decided to call it a day. The 17-year marriage ended on a mutual and amicable end, only suitable for two people who had spent a large part of their lives together.

Their divorce made headlines not only because of the basketball legend involved but also because this settlement was out of this world. She’s got the kids, the house, and $168 million making hers one of the most expensive divorce settlements we’ve seen out there.

Two years after his divorce, the athlete met Yvette Prieto, a Cuban-American model. Yvette is said to have had a lot of experience in the modeling world, posing for designers such as Alexander Wang.
The two met at a Miami nightclub in 2008, and the next year she moved into the athlete’s home in Florida. Their relationship was very public and the paparazzi made it so, with constant harassment and photos.
By 2013, the couple took their relationship to the next level, and Yvette became Michael Jordan’s wife. Apparently, this divorce didn’t affect the athletes as they had a very extravagant wedding with personalities like Usher and Tiger Woods. Both Usher and Robin Thicke sang at their wedding!
It seemed to get the excitement of the wedding, the paparazzi thirsty for more, because when they went to Greece for their honeymoon, the local paparazzi would not let them, they constantly harassed them, also videos and pictures of the couple taking the sights and spending time together, spread all over the country Internet.
In February 2014, the couple welcomed their twin babies, Victoria and Ysabel into the world and Michael has proved to the world that he’s still in good ‘baby-making’ shape.
