I have a freind who has quite a large deer breading facility and they have really never sold many of the antlers ……but now they are ready to part with them lol there is probably at least 10 years worth range’n from 125″ – 200+” They are wondering what they are worth I guess, is there a market for cut-offs or should they be just sold by the lb.? I have seen where people do rebuild the burrs but I havent tried that yet:confused:

Most of the time cut-offs are sold by the pound for crafts such as dresser and knife handles, the value of antlers drop considerably once the burs are cut off. Then again I always say they are worth what ever you can get out of them.

I have quite a few game farm cut offs I have used for display mounts because of the size of the antlers, it took some time to rebuild the burrs they make impressive mounts, but like Jseiler said the resale market is poor once the burr is removed.

Some one told me the other day that pet stores sold pieces of antler by the ounce for dogs to chew on. Not sure how much truth to it, but said a 4 ounce piece sold for $15.00. Made me want to start cutting up some of my old sheds and racks.
