I am working on a bear for the first time. I had them tanned at CFD and they did a great job. The one I am working on know is a shoulder mount that was about 500lbs. I can’t get the cartilage out of the ears like a deer. Is there an easy way to get the cartilage out of a bear ear???

” It ain’t about easy, it’s about tough “
The answer to your question is, NO! But you can get them off. You may want to consider Bondo.
Craig if you use earliners the best and only way I have found is with a scalpel and it is a slow go!!!! If you take your time and start cutting the cartilage out in small sections I have found that sometimes you can pull the last inch or so out but most of the time I just cut it out and don’t take the chance on tearing the ear. Good luck to you!!!!
