I’m somewhat new to taxidermy and just bought a deer cape from someone and its slipping. I’ve seen the stop slip stuff but wasn’t sure if it actually worked or if there was something else that’d work better? Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks, Bob

If the slipping has started, its gonna slip in those spoiled areas. There is nothing you can do about it. Has it been salted? How bad is the slipping, and where at? Has it been turned and split?

The best thing you can do is get it into a strong pickle as soon as possible. It will set the hair in the good areas and you can see what you have to deal with once the cape is safe.
