I think it looks very good, I got mine fleshed and tanned and oiled and I put back in fridge til tomorrow evening, I am going to try and mount tomorrow…DC

Yes, I take a repro nose and rasp it till they look alike, I just flesh the nose pad real well. I put clay on the top behind the nose so I can recreate the little wrinkles….DC

If you take your time you can thin the nose very thin. I like it better then a plastic nose….Just Me, I like the little hairs…DC

Fleshing machine . Ill have a necker knife or Sheffield and beam for the next one . New ranch opened up . They kill a lot of hogs . I toldem send them my way .

It takes alittle getting use to but works pretty good. I just take small strips off on each pass. It will cut right through the shield like a hot knife through butter but you have to be carefull and not cut through the skin. I flesh the rest same as a deer……DC

That right there is good enough reason to join this site! haha… I’ve had that tool sitting in the garage for who knows how long and never thought to use it to take sheilds off hogs. Thats gonna be a lifesaver … Thank You DC!

Just remember to go slow at first. I take the knife blade and sharpen it on a wet rock til it is very sharp… It cuts better, easier to control….DC
