First fox ped, and first l/s fox|Gamehead and Lifesize Mammals|Forum|Taxidermy Talk

I can’t recall if I posted my first full fox (an amazing cross fox) for you on this forum or not. So here he is! He’s up on my wall now and I love him.

I got this next fox and form as a set from someone on line. I discovered when I started that the form was for a gray fox not red, there was a lot of damage to the hide and it had been dry a little too long (it still rehydrated, but not perfect). So I was starting off my first ped with a few strikes against me.

Then to top it off I got the order wrong, I did some awesome clay work with the eyes and then put the skin over the form…oops. So one eye got pushed up and it took a while for me to notice, so…um….oops.

However, I thought I’d share so you can see how I get better over time. This is a fantasy mount, with feathers and jewels. I’m working on a full sized winged, antlered, red fox.
