Is it my bad eyes, or does he still have velvet? We don’t get to tan many deer from that part of the country, I think D gets them all! They’re a lot like what I call an Arkansas type, a welcome relief when you’ve been running a bunch of capes from here out to Krushers section!;)
That short hair sure makes for a slick mount. You guys have a lot of rubs on the armpits and chest on your capes from that area?

Yes, he is in velvet…You can kind of see a sliver hanging from his left beam…Personally, most of the deer I take in don’t have rubbed chest. I took one in from Ohio last year, and his brisket area looked pretty rough.
