OfflineI wasn’t sure where this would go, i just joined because i really need some help with this.
I purchased a really nice silver fox tail with really nice, thick fur. I’ve never dealt with taxidermy because i’m born and raised in the city, but i love taxidermy and nature and native american culture. Because of this i’m not sure if the skin is supposed to tear easily. It’s not super easy, but it’s kinda soft and what not. I pierced a hole in it to put a keyring and holder on it for my boyfriend to wear but it tore when it got tugged on a bit..Lucky it wasn’t much since i didn’t put it too far down on the tail. I used this method because i didn’t have the proper supplied and tools but he was so excited and he wanted to wear it anyways..
But my issue is, I want to make it into a keychain for my boyfriend, obviously, but i’m not entirely sure how to go about doing this or where to get the supplies. I see tail key chains that people make with the big round silver pieces with ball chains and keyrings.. i wanted to do one like that but i’m entirely uneducated on this sort of thing.. My area of art leans more to just normal everyday sewing and traditional hand drawn art with a pencil and paper. (Yes, i see taxidermy as a form of art)
So i was wondering if anyone could direct me to a place online where i could get the needed supplies, and either a description on how to do it or a picture/video tutorial.
I’m sorry for any trouble, and thank you in advance.
