Indefinitely, if the skin is properly tanned it will not rot. The only thing is, like anything else you put in the freezer over time it will dry out or freezer burn, but with a tanned skin it would be just a matter of re-hydrating the skin. I’ve mounted deer capes that have been in the freezer over 10 years, no problems.

It’s best if the freezer is a NON frost free freezer. The kind you have to manually defrost.
That’s what this freezer is and it is a chest freezer. It is hard to find an upright non-frost free freezer these days. I have one that I bought in 1981 and I am forever concerned that it will go out on me. You just don’t get appliances to last that long any more.
