You guys that have used numerous Gene Smith forms, Which one do you prefer for an upright mount the W01 or the W05. I have used both in the past but I don’t remember the differances. Any help is appreciated.

Jason the WO-1 is a full upright and the WO-5 is a semi-upright. I mount on and love both forms!!!

The W05 series are all newly sculpted (within the last two years) and it has some updated features. If you were a taxidermist in the North or Mid-West I would reccomend the W05 but being a taxidermist in the south either would work. The W01 has a shorter neck but allows for a good fit when you want a “swelled neck look” without sacrificing skin placement. The W05’s fit deer from all regions but the larger sizes (21″ +) are sculpted off mid-western whitetails.

Jason the WO5 is hard to beat. The 19 inch is one of the nicest looking mounts I have ever done. I mount on it every chance I get. Actually finshed one up today with a right turn.

I likem both . I’m mounting a 19 x21 tomorrow . Both have a nice fit and look . I do favor the w05 a little more though . A little more relaxed peacefull look . The w01 can be a nice proud majestic look . Upright and alert . You know when they bird dog yah as if you were doing the macarana. Not sure how to spell that sorry .
