Hey guys…I got kind of a odd question…I have a whitetail that i just mounted up and the cape was rolled up hairside out. Patches of hair on the face are “cowlicked” every which way. I have tryed cape set, watering down and blow drying, but cant seem to get them to lay natural. Does anybody have any other suggestions?
Pinning some screening over it while it is wet will help. I like to remove it and reset it occasionaly as it dries, to make sure it is drying the way I want it. Just basically roll the screen over it as you place the hair/fur where you want it to stay. I push the T-pins in just tight enough to hold it place without flattening it to much. The hair should be wet. You can add a small amount of hair gell working it in bit before screening, but that can add to flat look. If it is real bad you may not get all waves out of the fur, but tame them a bit so it isn’t as noticable.
