OfflineOn the few life size mounts I’ve done in the past I’ve been lucky on getting a form close to size on the girth, but not always on the length and I’ve got pretty decent at that. The issue I have now is I need to add 1 1/2 inches to the girth of a bobcat form. Any suggestion on how to go about this?
Beginners don’t realize if they shorten the length, they can usually gain more skin on forms that have too large a girth. But you need to add to the girth. You *could* cut down the center, widen it a bit, and pour foam into the gap. But for that small an amount, I’d use clay. Roll it out flat (kitchen rolling pins are great for this) and apply to the form where needed. You could roll it thin enough to add a small amount all the way around, or roll it flatter and put it on the belly and up the sides a bit, blending it in.
