sometime this week I should receive my first big order of supplies… 3 coon forms, 1 grinner, and 1 beaver, and a groundhog… along with all sorts of supplies and tools that I hadnt gotten ahold of yet. I’m super psyched to really get going. The coons are christmas gifts, possum is for myself, groundhog is just a favor for a friend but it’ll be good practice..

the beaver is actually an interesting story. The customer is a neighbor of my hog hunting buddy in Texas. His wife is actually the one who took the beaver, but he wanted to get it mounted for her and was gonna give me a chance to prove myself as a new taxidermist. My friend is actually the one who bid the job for me. $600… the customer paid me 300 up front. BUT…. I was told last week that he is getting a divorce. He said he will pay me the 300 he owes me for the beaver.. but he he wants me to keep it. I guess he doesnt want it and he isnt gonna give it to the soon to be ex. So… after its done I guess I have the option to keep it for myself or sell it and get paid twice. What do you think of that?

Those grinner’s are actually cool looking mounts . I like them hanging by their tail .

thats exactly how I’m doing this one! Hanging straight down with head up looking out into the room. I trapped one the other day that was almost solid black so I used it as an excuse to mount me a rat.
