Well guys and gals I still have some finish work to do on the cat after it dries, hence the t pins still on the cats face. I also have a few more leaves and ground cover to add to the rock ledge but for the most part it’s prob. 95% complete. I really enjoyed this one and I’m going to enjoy it for years to come hanging on my wall:) I’m sure there are plenty of things that could be better on the bobcat and hopefully I’ll have many more to learn with. I also want to use my digital camera and get some better pics of it. It’s in my garage under flourescent lights which don’t take good pics and I blurred the last one a little but I can’t wait anymore to post it:} So let me know your opinons. I am very happy with it, it’s mine so that all that matters on this one:} But I still want to learn from it.

Thanks,
WVO

Sorry I blurred this one a little

Thats a great job getting your first one together. It takes a lot of work and reference studying to get them right.

Nice job on the rock! What did you do to preserve those leaves or did you buy those?

Thanks guys!!! I really enjoyed this one. I’m looking forward to the next project already:) I painted both sides of the leaves with ModgePodge. First time I have used the stuff but it looks like it did a good job.

That’s an awesome rock! I like the face, good expression. He seems a little thin, but other than that is good!

That rock is banging…The cat looks like the left rear leg skin is misaligned or the cat is changeing from summer to winter hair, alot of fuzzy hair on the outside of the thigh area…Hard to tell exactly with just those pics….DC

Thanks everyone for the tips and comments!!! I agree DC. I think I should have dremeled out inside the leg between the body and leg and tucked some of the skin in but I really didn’t think about it. This was my first and I had to learn something:) LOL!!! I’ll know better next time.

What kind of foam did you use for the rock base? It looks great. I’d like to try something like that…

Thanks Chadleek!!! It’s the 2″ foam you can get at hardware stores for home insulation comes as a 4’x8′ sheet. It comes in different colors from different manufacturers pink, green, and blue. Not the white stuff that is made of little foam pellets.

Good luck,
WVO

Did you just carve out your rock face with a knife , looks really nice. and did you use 2 part foam later to fill in the gaps. . great work..

What did you use for the coloration on that foam? I tried making a base out of that foam stuff like you and it sort of turned out but I used that textured stuff in an aerosol can. It was kind of nasty and took forever to dry and never really looked right. Yours looks more natural.
