Which wound do you think was the exit? The kid that shot him said the one under the eye was the entrance and it came out right behind the ear? I questioned it to start with and he insisted, so I just let it go. Doesn’t really matter, still has to be repaired. I just don’t see how a 7 mag can make such a large entrance and leave a small exit.

I’ll bet he was shooting a Ballistic Tip. That looks like something that would happen with that bullet.
D. the kid may be right. A couple of years ago I shot a buck at about 50 yards facing me in the neck. As soon as it hit the bone it blew out the front where I shot him at. I could put both of my hands side by side in the entrance hole. Yes there was a exit hole about the size of a nickle. I shot him with a 7mm ultra mag and funny things can happen when you hit bone lol. My guess, this is what happen on this deer. Hit bone going in and the bullet blew apart causing the blow out in the face the rest of the bullet kept going and out leaving the smaller hole in the back. Gary
