You can do it D. Just don’t put too much clay in the nose/muzzle area.

I can fix it, thats not a problem. It’s the fact of spending $228 + $30 shipping. Then having to sculpt the form yourself.

Remember D, forms are mostly just a representative of the speices. As a taxidermist, it’s up to you to fix it perfectly before you mount it. They can’t all be HQ mannaquins.:halo:

I’m not gonna say. It doesn’t really matter. Bob, the more you get into taxidermy, you will learn what to expect from certain suppliers. I’m sure there are some here that can tell you who it came from just from the quality.

I can tell you it is not from Head Quarters Supply, enough said.

D I know how it is when you get really sorry forms to work with. This little red duiker form was terrible when I ordered it the first time. I called to complain to the distributor and they said to send it back and they would send me another one. I sent if back and they sent me another one that was worse than the first. The head was broken off and it was full of holes and voids in the form. Sent pictures back to the distributor and they said “thanks for the pics”. I ended up cutting that form into so many pieces to get it to fit that I guess it really didn’t matter that the form was so poor. It was quit a learning process mounting that little fellow. I do appreciate the quality of forms that I get from HQ.

This was a small Doe form, but its actually gonna be a a little, I guess what you call a spike. Barely, but it is a spike. I cut the head off and made some serious alterations to it. It was to wide from the eyes back, but the nose and muzzle was to narrow, not to mention having to put a head block in for this massive rack. This is what I came up with.

Why don’t you want to spill the form makers name D? Looks a lot like a Dan Chase classic to me!
