I just skinned out what has to be the fattest raccoon I have ever seen. That sucker had a good half to three-quarters of a inch of fat over its entire body except the ears. I used my fleshing machine to knock it off but that dude to super slick and greasy. What would you suggest to degrease this guy? Would something like mineral spirits work without harming the skin?

At least you won’t have to worry about your blade rusting.
My favorite degreaser is super solvent by Rittel sold at T.A.S.CO. Research sells some good degreaser also.
I used a degreaser (Tanzall from Jim Allred/Research) but it didn’t clean it all up as good as I expected so I was seeing if anyone had another method. I guess I will run it through a second time and see if that works this time. Maybe it was so bad one round isn’t enough.
