For the record, I am only a hobbyist! This is my deer. I do not any do customer work.
I need some advice from those of you out there who have done fawns. The McKenzie catalog has eyes for fawns that are sort of blue in color. (Stock # A18FN or A22FN) I have not been able to find a suitable photo of a fawn that will show me the eyes of a fawn without glare on them. I want this mount to look as natural as possible and without a good reference photo, however, I feel like I am lost on making a good decision. Would it be better to use this eye, or get a small “normal” brown eye of the appropriate size? What would you as a professional shop use if a customer came to you with a fawn that is a week or two old use?
Any suggestions on what would be a good eye to use on this mount would help!
Thanks,
Vic
