I have been up at The Cleveland Clinic with my Father in-law. If some of you remember I posted on [another site] a couple of weeks ago that My father-in-law had a heart attack, and the hospital in Charleston said there was nothing they could do. He had only 10% of his heart working. The outlook was VERY grim. They transfered him to The Cleveland Clinic, to see what they could do. Well they opted for a triple Bypass, and on Wednesday they did the procedure. He is doing great today. We had some scares along the way. My wife and I drove back home Wednesday night, so she could work thursday and friday, thursday morning her mom called and said it was not good, he was shaking, talking out of his head and staring off at the ceiling, saying” help me”. We had thought he had a stroke. So she left work, and we drove back up to cleveland, only to get up there and see that it wasnt a stroke, he was fine!
He knew who we were and was talking normal, Come to find out he was having a reaction coming out of the anesthesia. Her mom is a little on the crazy side normally anyway, so we opted to stay up there till last night when they moved him out of ICU into a regular room. They took out his breathing tubes on Saturday, which inadvertantly nicked one of his lungs, and one of his lungs had a partial collapse, so back into panic mode we go.
We drove back to WV last night and got some much needed rest. Her mom called this morning and told us he is doing so good now that they are gonna release him Tuesday some time, and he has to stay in the Hospitals, Hotel on campus one night for precaution. We are going back up Wednesday morning to pick him up.
Been a busy two weeks.
