OfflineI had a bull elk mounted but while in the field, I removed the whistlers. The taxidermist mounted the bull with mouth opened and when I questioned him on why he didn’t put (fake) whistlers in, he said he couldn’t. This never sat well with me and people keep thinking I used a cows head for the mount. Is there really nothing that can be done?

OfflineHe should have used a jaw set for an open mouth shoulder mount. Those plastic jaw sets as well as the composite jaw cups have the whistlers moulded into them along with the rest of the teeth. Something is off here. Can we get a little more info on what the mount is, IE, shoulder mount? Bugling? ETC.
