Victim in China Grove fire confirmed to be Sonya Graham Salisbury Post|General Discussion|Forum|Taxidermy Talk

Sonja Graham and her sister Sie owned and operated S&S Graham Archery in China Grove, NC. Sonja also ran a taxidermy shop. There was an explosion last night at the shop and at this time details are sketchy. However, it was just confirmed Sonja was killed. S&S Graham Archery was started by their father and both girls grew up in the business and knew as much about bows and archery than anyone you could meet. Sonja was also a longtime customer of Carolina Fur Dressing. Upon visiting her shop in China Grove one day, she called her sister and said “you won’t believe who’s here, it’s the folks from Carolina Fur, the whole family, even their chihuahuas. Watching her work the shop and giving personal care to her customers on that busy Saturday morning, with her own chihuahuas inside and her pig outside, she still made me feel she was so glad to see and meet us. I was humbled because I knew I had met the hardest working women that I probably would ever know. For several years now Sonja was a caretaker for her twin sister Sie who developed lyme disease and MS. Sonja was pretty much running the archery and taxidermy business by herself (at least that’s what I got from our phone converstions).
We are so saddened by this loss and our thoughts and prayers go out to this family, their friends, employees, community, and the pets that loved them.
