Dental Services Instead of extracting a severely decayed or broken tooth,  a root canal procedure can save and heal it. Cleaning the canals inside the tooth’s root is what gives the phrase “root canal” it’s meaning. Years ago, root canal procedures were frequently uncomfortable.
