I’ll be hunting in WY and SD, then WI. Hope to get my first Merriams which will put me 3/4 of the way to my Grand Slam. Might be a while before I can get my Osceola though. Turkey hunting is probably my favorite thing to do followed closely by Waterfowl hunting and fishing. Every year at this time I start to get very anxious for the season to start. All the shows on the Outdoor Channel, Pursuit Channel, etc. don’t help either!

Hope to make it to southern Indiana but things are so busy at Carolina Fur and Head Quarters I don’t know if I will be able to get away.

I’m getting the itch really bad. I wish I could hunt more this spring but my wife planned a family vacation the first two weeks of May which makes it tough. If I tag a Merriam though I’ll be happy. I hunted north central Nebraska about 8 years ago and unfortunately only tagged a hybrid that looked more like an Eastern than anything.

Has anyone been out yet? I know some of the southern states have opened already. Unfortunately I won’t get out until the end of April when I head to WY and SD after Merriams. From there I will head to central WI to hunt on my relatives property. Not nearly enough turkey hunting for me but better than nothing. Unfortunately my wife booked a family vacation right during turkey season making it difficult to do any more hunting than I already have planned. I did already book a trip for 2016 back in OK. Had the time of my life down there last year and can’t wait to make it back down!
