Just got a crate of some African plains game a gentlemen has had in storage for about 5 yrs. They are still pliable, have a yellow color to them. Does anybody know if they will fall apart in a rehydration bath?

Good chance they are grease burned. You may not be able to tell until you send them through the tannery. Wouldn’t even try doing them myself. To aggravating. The oldest ones I’ve done were 3 1/2 yrs old. Lost half the safari. But it also depends on where they’re from. SA and NAM do the best job on skins. But if they’re from ZIM, I wouldn’t hold my breath.
