Being a public school teacher I don’t have a lot of time to do taxidermy except during school breaks so my shop sits sometimes for months between projects.
I have a five pound pack of Critter Clay and a 25 pound block of potters clay. When I broke out the critter clay during my spring break (beginning of March) it had dark green mold growing on it. I cut off all the mold and sealed up the bag. Along comes summer break and it is molding again. I opened up my block of potters clay and it is molding also (but not as bad as the critter). Is this one of these things that once it started it never stops? Would refrigerating the clay do any good? Is it safe to use. <– This is the big question! Thanks for any insight in this matter.
