So i was on pintrest and a few sites looking at other mounts for S&Gs…. and i came across some really bad taxidermy.. Like i dont know if a toddler did it or if it was done on purpose…but it bothers me! Like a lot… these creatures died and now they are being mocked instead of being preserved in the way they used to be alive….

Same with some ive seen that are dressed up… Idk, is it me? what do you think of this situation?

I tend to not worry or get to bothered by things that are out of my control. Having said that, yes, I believe it seems disrespectful to the animal. But, then again, in 10 years from now, your first efforts are going to be really bad taxidermy that bothers someone else. Most of my firsts when I was new to the game, are really ugly babies. Now, my firsts don’t suck so much because I have the basics down good, but not back then. As far as Steampunk and the squirrels dressed up at a tea party and the like are not my cup of tea, however, who am I to decide what is or isn’t right for some one else. So yes, to me and for me, it seems disrespectful, but I am not all that bothered by it.

Im sorry but anyone who just starts knows that this cat isnt a replica of the real deal..

Can i control it no.. dose it bother me.. yea honestly does..

Oh, I see what you are saying. That mount you posted may have been some ones first and it looks like it was done with the real skull and may have been done many, many years ago when forms weren’t available and paper mache’ and wood wool or sawdust were used over the real bones. Disgusting as that looks, I am more disturbed by tea party mice, card playing kittens, and bobcats with wings and horns on their heads.
