I bought a dremel cutting and sanding tool at lowes . Used it today to cut deer skull cap n horns off. No incision . Man I love it. Cape looks nice without that gash down the back. So my first deer in the tan should be the only one ill sew. I like that.

Guess my chisel wasn’t sharp enough. I almost had a heart attack just starting it. I knocked it out quick n clean with my dremel.

I have mixed feelings! but my dremel tool was dull and needs a new blade too. I chiseled 9 this week, and yes it is so much easier to sew and a whole lot nicer looking finish job too.

I kind of feel dumb saying this but… what the heck are you guys talking about? Using a dremil to cut the skull cap off? What do you use a chisle and hammer for?

Interesting. so then you take the skull out through that opening? I was taught you make a y cut and then all the way down the back, and thats all Ive ever known. I might have to try something new! But… when you put it on the form do you just pull and stretch it on? How do you get your proper neck measurements? Sorry for all the questions but Ive just never seen this style

Hooter it is great to see someone like yourself that is eager to learn about the great art of taxidermy. If you continue to explore different ideas from different sources you will become a much better taxidermist. Keep it up!!

I don’t know the 1st thing about mounting a deer, but I’ve got that same tool from Harbor Freight the DC is showing. That’s one of the handiest things I’ve ever owned.
