Ok D you got things started so what do you guys consider to be a good solid acceptable turn around time? At our shop we tell everyone approximately 9 months. Most mounts are completed in approx. 6 months. It is not possible for us to shorten up any more because from Aug 15 to Jan 15 we are processing meat.

I’ve been saying 8 months for years. But not any more. It’s gonna be atleast 1 year from here on out. Right now I am 9 months out on the one I just started.

Anything longer then 6 months for a full time shop is too long in my opinion ……….. but If your customers are good with more time, take all you can get.

What you really have to watch now days is, that if you get out more than 6 months or so in return time you need to be adding enough to your price that your not getting killed on inflation ,shipping increases etc. Its real easy to do with things sky rocketing in price right now. Here in Idaho the price of fuel just went up 1.28 in 11 days. That puts a gallon at 4.32 now. Thats $145.00 to fill my shop truck now. If your clients dont mind the wait and you add for costs you could get long on your return time no problem.
Here I also see a difference in how long it takes my clients to pay for a mount. The faster its done the faster they pay.
