OfflineHello everyone. I am new to this sight, but need some help.
I started doing taxidermy about 7 months ago, so still new to the game. I have done several small animals including a badger, beaver, gray fox and a skunk but have never done a jack rabbit before.
I’m a little nervous about the legs. Can anyone give me any tips on getting these skinned out without them ripping to shreds on me?
Just take your time and don’t force anything they are very tender and will rip if you breathe on em wrong LOL,It helps to keep frozen veggie bags in the freezer and use to keep your hands cold so the heat off your hands don’t build up on the skin.I soak them in denatured alcohol before skinning toughens em up a little bit and I use my fingernail as much as possible when skinning to kinda push skin off carcass and I flesh on soft wire wheel and if you pull the stitched to tight you will see it will rip right through the skin.
