 I have a few coons,opossums,squirrels in the back of the freezer that have been there for a couple years and need them out so I figure on mounting them so I need ideas on how to thaw out freezer burn. any help appreciated

Thaw them out as normal and if there are areas that are freezer burned then spray down or brush down with STOP-ROT. Cover those areas treated with paper towels and then soak the paper towels with STOP-ROT. Bag and let sit until it starts to come back. Also be sure to spray entire carcass before bagging with some STOP-ROT. 

Some people also do this with just plain water mixed with some Dawn Dish soap. I use the STOP-ROT so I do not have to worry about any bacteria being born.

i’ll definatly will do that, stop rot is amazing stuff for sure,i use it on just abought every thing. never thought of that.

im clearing out my freezer, just skinned 14 coons 2 opossums. also in the process of mounting all these.  now im down to the freezer burn stuff. probably 10 atleast with freezer burn.

No problem. i just re-hydrate a severely freezer burned turkey tail (the meat part) using this method. That thing was so dried out it was locked up tight in the closed position. As of now its like I just removed it from the bird.
