OfflineSo.. I see that some guys put the white part of the eye in the front corner of the eye. On both eys… wouldnt that make it so the deer is looking outward with both eyes? I use pre rotated eyes and put the white part in the back corner. And now that Im thinking about it…. I probably wasnt taught as well as I could of been on eyes. I might be using them wrong. Any words of wisdom would be greatly appreciated. Thanks and Happy Holidays!
I have seen live deer show some white in the front of both eyes at the same time. Also showing white in the back of both eyes at the same time. One thing about taxidermy, never say never about anything. Now, with that said, you might want to stay with the norm and use the eyes to show rotation so the mount looks like it is up to something. If one eye shows white in the front corner, show white in the back of the other eye, this is rotation. There are many ways an animal can rotate its eyes, so it is our job as taxidermist to use the eyes, ears and pose of the mount to make it look like it is up to something.
