Ok, I just got off the phone with a very nice lady that was trying to clean up a mess it appears her husband and some buddies made.

PART 1: HUNTERS

DO YOUR HOME WORK! The best I could understand, they took a certain taxidermist here in NC. 5 deer heads in January. Red flag #1 he said he would have 2 ready in six weeks and the others would shortly follow. Red flag #2 they left $500 for a deposit with a balance due of $500. $200 Deerheads?

She calls me after finding my name and number on the NCTA website as a board member. I’m not sure why they didn’t look there first. But anyway now they are just trying to get their deer back and wanted to know if there is anything myself or the association could do.

I found the taxidermist on Facebook. He advertises as being “Certified” in what Im not sure, because he is not on the NCTA Certified Taxidermist page. The photos pretty much speak for themselves, but that is beside the point.

Please, if you have taken your trophy to a taxidermist and left a deposit, it is apparent that you trust the person. So don’t call every other day checking on it. If for some reason something doesn’t seem right, don’t leave it there.

PART 2: TAXIDERMIST

If you are going to have a business, run it like a business. If the phone rings answer it. If you miss it and there is a message from someone you have work for, return the call. Folks have been screwed over so many times, they get nervous and start thinking you are hiding something.

Everyone has problems and issues that come up. It’s called life, and most people will understand as long as you are truthful with them.

This lady said they had been calling everyday for the last 2 weeks with no answer. So yesterday they go over to the taxidermist house and are met on the front porch by his wife/girl friend who starts making excuses.

All of this could have been avoided if there had been some communication. Now one is hiding and the others are panicing and looking for some help.

Ok, Im Done.

Hell, just screw the rack to the form without a cape and it will be an improvement.

i thought about doing that D but the skull plate still had meat on it. the sad thing about this is that the deer was this guys sons first big deer. he wanted to get it back as fast as he could. so me with my big heart for kids i am working a little OT to get it fixed for him. i’ll be coming up to HQ to pick up a form and eyes next wk.

hey ken, mine had yellow play dough. i guess if you mix the two together you get green and it matches the hide in about a month.
